About ICS

The Institute of Contemplative Studies, a non-profit organization (501c3) established in the State of California in 1994, was founded on the vision of exploring human consciousness and what it means to become fully human. ICS serves numerous functions that include:
  • Providing graduate and postgraduate education and clinical supervision to psychologists and professional psychotherapists
  • A full range of consciousness oriented psychotherapies designed to explore human potential and lessen the burden of everyday suffering
  • International training programs, workshops and presentations
  • Consulting services to organizations, executives and teams
  • Consultation in Peak Performance Sports Psychology and Sports Trauma
  • Public programs designed to help improve people’s inner lives through a variety of time tested contemplative and meditative practices aimed at reducing stress while promoting creativity and genuine human flourishing
  • An on-going interest in psychological research that informs the question of what it means to be fully human
  • Sponsoring Continuing Education under the aegis of the California Psychological Association
